What is Gylon style 3545?
In the processing of semiconductors, a variety of chemicals are used. The vapours and fumes extracted from these chemicals need to be effectively extracted using the exhaust tool hook up. Gaskets fitted within the exhaust tool hook up are critical in maintaining the integrity of the system. To avoid issues and problems gaskets need to be chemically resistance and physically resilient.
As a high-performance gasketing material, Gylon 3545 is made of multi-layered PTFE for permanent resilience. Gylon 3545 has outer layers of soft compressible micro-cellular PTFE and a hard PTFE pressure resistant core. The combination of these features, causes this gasket to have better resilience and physical properties (when compared to virgin PTFE and ePTFE). Made from 100% PTFE, Gylon style 3545 is compatible with the chemicals used in the Processing on semiconductors and their biproducts, including: hydrofluoric acid, hydrochloric acid, nitric acid, sulphuric acid, ammonia, ammonium salts, calcium salts.
