What is a Stress Saver 3522 seal and why should you use it?
During the manufacturing of Semiconductors, ultra-pure water (UPW) and acid handling and neutralization processes play critical roles. Pipework for these processes can be constructed from a variety of materials such as stainless steel or non-metallic, for example, PVDF. Due to the vast amount of applications for semiconductor pipework, the seals must meet high purity standards, be chemically compatible with process media and effectively seal at low bolt load.
Garlock’s Stress Saver 3522 is made from 100% PTFE and is compatible with the chemicals used and their biproducts. When compared to Virgin PTFE and ePTFE, this gasket shows better resilience and physical properties. With its design of moulded raised ribs, the stress saver 3522 creates a tighter seal by concentrating the compressive load.
