the challenge

The transfer system utilised a nylon seal within the slide gate. However, the seal would adhere due to accumulated fine powder, resulting in product build-up during slide gate operation.

the solution

A PTFE carrier combined with a transfer-moulded rubber seal to substitute the nylon seal was created. We developed a customised FDA EPDM with an additive to reduce friction coefficient in the specific application.

the result

Effective sealing and functioning were achieved through our tailored solution. This successful solution was initially implemented for the customer's 4" product and has subsequently been extended to their 6" and 8" transfer systems.
