Astra Seals® – Extreme Temperature and Extreme Pressure Seals
M Barnwell Services will only partner with the Worlds leading fluid sealing solution providers in extreme pressure seals and the ASTRA Seal® is a unique sealing solution for Cryogenic Applications. Manufactured by the guidance of an Aerospace Engineer the seal helps to combat the harsh environments associated with liquid oxygen, liquid nitrogen and hydrogen. In most cases this extreme pressure seal will outperform an FFKM for compression set.

Why Astra Seals® as your extreme pressure seal?
Where traditional O Rings become brittle in extreme low temperatures the Astra Seal® is designed to mitigate that risk. The Astra Seal® comprises of 302 stainless flat wound ribbon spring, which is then encapsulated in either FEP or PFA jacket to form an O Ring. Temperature ranges for FEP are -250°C to 204°C (-420°F to + 428°F) and for PFA -250°C to 260°C (-420°F to + 500°F).
The Astra Seals® has been successfully used in several space shuttle/rocket launches and in applications for NASA, Boeing and Lockheed.
