The customer group of companies ensures reliable automation and logistics of raw materials in food production processes, dairy, pharmaceutical, cosmetic, chemical and plastics fields. The main activity is carried out in bulk material processing systems for raw materials. All our client's services perfectly fit together - engineering, supply of unique elements, construction of entire turnkey plants, automation, assembly, and complete after-sales service. The final product by the end-user can be tablets, capsules, toothpaste, food, baked goods, beverages, tile adhesives, plasters, basic chemistry, or plastics. One of the most accomplished companies in the world responsible for automated handling of raw materials was in need of a sealing solution that has low wear and is 'dead area' free. Furthermore, they needed a food-grade sealing solution that will comply with the hygienic demands of the industry - USP Class VI, ADI-free, FDA, and more. The functionality of their previous sealing solution didn't meet the required standards and requirements.
We supported the customer in numerous technical consultations with the customer's engineering team to find the best possible sealing solution. Their requirements of the hygienic connections were very high, therefore in order to fulfil them, we decided to propose PS-SEAL® - the non-standard, reverse lip in GYLON® White with static sealing GYLON® White. High-precision of bulk material in batch or continuous processes is now obtainable thanks to the dosing systems being equipped with dosing screws with vibration support. In order to keep down the temperature, the flush system with air was implemented.
All requirements were met in food and pharmaceutical applications (FDA, EC1935/2004 and more), and resistance to temperature, media and abrasion was also achieved. Our sealing solution has been set to the customer's specifications. Also, the majority of high-performance shaft seals were replaced with our solution.
